Five Bell 412EP helicopters

On March 13, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of the possible Foreign Military Sale to the Mexican Air Force of five Bell Helicopter Bell 412EP helicopters for an estimated cost of US$93 million.

The DSCA said that “This proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve Mexico’s fight against criminal organisations, drugs and gang activities… The proposed sale of the helicopters will increase the Mexican Air Force’s air capabilities to support its interdiction activities, rapid response of law enforcement in Mexico and support for the civilian population in natural disasters.”
