Eyeing T-50 AJT purchase
It is reported that the Iraqi Air Force is considering the procurement of an unknown number of Korea Aerospace Industries T-50 Golden Eagle Advanced Jet Trainers (AJTs). A request for the acquisition was made during the South Korea-Iraq summit in February.
Iraqi President Jalal Talabani is said to have received a briefing on the T-50 and Defence Minister Abdul-Qader al-Obeidi inspected an aircraft in Seoul in January. An Iraqi pilot has also flown the T-50.
