Sino-Russian HLH deal nears
According to a senior official at China’s Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC) on March 12, China and Russia will shortly sign an agreement for the joint development of a Heavy Lift Helicopter (HLH), based on the Russian Mil Mi-26.
Zhang Hongbiao, Director of AVIC’s Science & Technology Commission, said that the two countries had made “great progress” on completing the agreement, after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in October 2008.
