Air defence target systems: The Australian Department of Defence has indicated that, as part of Project JP66 Phase 1, it is seeking suitably qualified companies capable of providing a comprehensive air defence target system for use in operator training. The current notification is a formal request for information (RFI). The JP66 Ph.1 project seeks to introduce a new air defence target system (ADTS) to replace the capability previously provided by a combination of physical platforms and contractual arrangements. The new ADTS should enable the operators of all current and future air defence weapons systems to carry out firing exercises. The proposed service is expected to consist of flights of physical targets capable of emulating specified threats, along with target launch, recovery and control systems, as well as any other required supporting services.   Companies wishing to be associated in any manner with this program should contact the issuing authority directly for additional information.
