Three Russian FAC-Ms
Russia’s Rosoboronexport has signed a contract to supply the Libyan Navy with three 40kt Molniya Project 12418 Fast Attack Craft – Missile (FAC-Ms), to be built by the Rybinsk-based Vympel shipbuilding plant.
The value of the contract was not released, but is estimated at some US$250 million, plus a further US$100 million for double ammunition loads. Armament includes a 76mm gun, Surface-to-Air Missiles (SAMs) and 130km-range Tactical Missile Corp. Kh-35 Uran-E anti-ship missiles (NATO designation: SS-N-25 Switchblade).
