Thales equipment for two more FAC-Ms
The Hellenic Navy has ordered a further two Roussen class (Super Vita) Fast Attack Craft – Missile, or FAC-Ms, from the UK’s BVT Surface Fleet International Ltd., to be built in Greece at Elefsis Shipbuilding & Industrial Enterprises. This will bring the Navy’s fleet to seven Roussen class, with the sixth due for delivery by the end of 2012 and the seventh about one year later.
BVT has signed a contract with Thales Nederland to supply a number of systems for the new FACs. These include for each vessel: an MW08 Medium-Range Surveillance Radar; a Sting EO Mk2 Fire Control Radar; two Target Designation Sights; a Mirador Electro-Optic Fire Control System; a Tacticos Combat Management System with MOC Mk3 Operator Consoles; a Link 11 Tactical Data Link; a DR3000 Electronic Support Measures (ESM) system; a Scout / Bridgemaster navigation radar; and a communications system.
Thales will also provide the system integration of all sensors and weapons with the Combat Management System.
