Biological alert system

On March 10, EADS Defence & Security announced that it had been awarded a Euros 35 million (US$47.8 million) contract by the French DGA national armaments directorate, to supply the French Army with the Système d’Alerte Mobile Avancée, or SAMOA Advanced Mobile Alert System, under the DETECBIO V1 system. This is designed to detect and identify biological warfare agents in the environment.

The DETECBIO system consists of a network of environmental monitoring sensors, means of identifying biological agents and an information and supervision system that can save lives and limit the reduction in operational capacity on the deployment site in the event of a biological attack.
