MEXICO

One Persuader Maritime Patrol Aircraft

On April 3, the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of the possible Foreign Military Sale to the Mexican Navy of one EADS-CASA CN-235-300M-M01 Persuader Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA), for an estimated US$60 million.

The DSCA said that the principal contractor will be EADS North America in Arlington, Virginia. It added that “This proposed sale contributes to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve Mexico’s fight against criminal organisations, drugs and gang activities. This proposed sale directly supports the Mexican Government and serves the interests of the Mexican people and the US.”
