RFP for wheeled APCs

The Indian Army has issued Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to seven foreign companies for the supply of 100 amphibious wheeled Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) valued at US$200 million.

      The new vehicles are to mount the Army’s new anti-tank missile, a 25-40mm cannon, a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun and a 40mm grenade launcher, plus a weapon to provide self-defence against incoming Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs).

       The companies to which the RFP has been sent are: BAE Systems; Bumar Labedy; Finmeccanica; General Dynamics Land Systems; Rheinmetall Defence; Rosoboronexport; and Ukrainexport.
