BELARUS
To
deploy S-400 Triumf long-range SAMs
The Belarussian
Air Defence Forces, which already deploy the Russian Almaz-Antey
S-300PS (SA-10A Grumble) Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) system, are to start
deploying the 400km-range S-400 Triumf SAM system from May this year, in a Russian-Belarussian
integrated air defence system agreed on February 3.
The S-400s will be used in common by the defence forces of both countries. The commander of the future Joint Air Defence structure will be appointed by the two governments on a rotational basis.
