Radar functional trainer: The New Zealand Ministry of Defence has indicated that it has a requirement calling for the manufacture and delivery of a radar functional trainer for use by radar operators flying the Royal New Zealand Air Force's P-3K2 Orion maritime patrol aircraft. The current request seeks proposals from industry for either a radar trainer that emulates the main characteristics of the Israeli-built Elta EL/M-2022A(V)3 radar, but operates using a generic human-machine interface(HMI); and/or a radar trainer that emulates the main characteristics of the EL/M-2022A(V)3 radar that is controlled by a replication of the P-3K2 Orion HMI. Companies wishing to be associated in any manner with this program should contact the issuing authority directly for more complete technical and tendering information.
