NEW ZEALAND

Hand grenades: The New Zealand Ministry of Defence has indicated that it is planning the procurement of hand grenades for use by New Zealand Army personnel. The present requirement is for fragmentation and practice variants. The estimated quantities required at present are as follows: fragmentation (delay) - 6,000 (first year) and 28,800 (over the subsequent three years); and practice - 1,152(1st. yr.) and 6,930(over next 3yrs.). In addition, fuze and charge devices for the practice hand grenades will be needed (5,000 in the 1st. yr. and 34,560 over next 3yrs.). The grenades being proposed must be either commercial or military off-the-shelf items. The supply of the grenades will be on a standing offer basis for a period of four years, with two rights of renewal, each for two years. Companies wishing to participate in this procurement in any way should contact the issuing authority directly for the complete technical specifications and all relevant tendering documentation.
