GREECE

Submarine batteries: The Greek Ministry of Defence has announced a new requirement calling for the supply to the Hellenic Navy of special batteries for installation in its fleet of Type 209 submarines. The present procurement will cover the manufacture and delivery of six complete packs, together with all ancillary components, suitable for direct installation and proper operation onboard the boats. The batteries need to be delivered in dry condition to the submarines batteries workshop, at the naval base in Salamis, Greece. They should be ready to be activated an installed in the Type 209s. This activation process will be undertaken in Greece, by Greek Navy personnel, under contractor supervision. The contract is expected to run for a period of three years. Companies wishing to be associated in any manner with this procurement should contact the issuing authority as soon as possible for the complete technical specifications and all relevant tendering documentation.
