Insitu to provide Small UAV service

Insitu Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Boeing, has been awarded a US$30 million contract by the Canadian Government to provide one year of Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (SUAV) services to the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan. This initial contract includes two additional one-year options.

The award comes after Insitu’s ScanEagle SUAV successfully proved itself on the battlefield in Afghanistan, in support of Canadian troops, under an interim contract. The new contract includes in-theatre flight operations, on-demand payload reconfiguration and aircraft maintenance.
