Upgrade
of Navy AF-1 strike aircraft
On April 14, the Brazilian
Navy awarded Embraer a contract,
of undisclosed value, to upgrade nine single-seat AF-1 and three two-seat AF-1A
(A-4 and TA-4 Skyhawk) attack aircraft. The program includes rebuilding the
aircraft and their current systems, as well as providing upgrades to their
avionics, radar, power production and autonomous oxygen-generating systems.
