Seeking
10 CH-47 Chinooks
In February, the Turkish SSM Undersecretariat for
Defence Industries formally requested US Government approval for the acquisition
of 10 new-build Boeing CH-47 Chinook
heavy lift helicopters for the Turkish Land Forces Command, for some US$500 million under the
Foreign Military Sales program. Turkey at present has no heavy lift helicopters.
