Spy satellite choice is postponed

The Turkish Defence Industry Executive Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, met on April 9 and decided to postpone the selection of a prime contractor for the country’s first military reconnaissance satellite, due to “some unfinished business.”

Three companies are competing for the US$250 million deal: UK-based EADS-Astrium; Germany’s OHB; and Italy’s Telespazio. © DAPSS  S.A., 2008, Switzerland
