New
RfP for attack helicopters
Following the cancellation of its order for six MD
Helicopters MG530F attack helicopters for Pesos 1.2 billion (US$29.3
million), after an appeal by losing finalist PZL
Swidnik, of Poland (MPI February
1, 2008, page 4), the Philippines Air
Force is now working on a new tender.
According
to a Defence Ministry source, “They are working on the Request for Proposals [RfP].
It is now likely to contain a requirement for 18 helicopters at one go.” The
source added that some Pesos 3.2 billion (US$80 million) has been allocated to
