Six ASW helicopters required

The Royal Malaysian Navy will soon submit to the Government in Kuala Lumpur a project to purchase six Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) helicopters, either under the 9th Malaysian Five Year Plan which ends in 2010 or, failing that, under the 10th Plan. Contenders for the contract, which will be worth some US$230 million, are expected to include: AgustaWestland (with the AW101); NH Industries (NH90); and Sikorsky / Lockheed Martin (MH-60R Seahawk). © DAPSS  S.A., 2008, Switzerland
