CHILE
Basic
trainer aircraft competition
The Chilean Air
Force expects to select the winner of its competition for 12 basic trainer
aircraft by end-August. The two finalists are the Brazilian Embraer
EMB-314 Super Tucano and the Swiss Pilatus
PC-21.
In
addition to the aircraft, the US$130 million contract will cover: a flight
simulator; a computer training system; a mission planning and debriefing system;
logistics support; and training of instructors.
