NETHERLANDS

Target presentation:  The Dutch Ministry of Defence has issued a notification seeking suitably qualified companies capable of providing subsonic targets for use by Royal Netherlands Navy personnel during air defence missile firing practice. A multi-year (four) contract will be awarded to the selected contractor to provide a variety of Navy target presentations at several locations around the world (such as NAMFI, Crete and Curacao). The contract will cover an estimated number of five firing events per year at most, with one or more presentations per event. The targets will need to be launched from a Navy ship or from a firing range. The presentation will include both aerial and surface targets. Different aerial targets may be required, with different speeds, as well as single and multiple target missions. The targets should have the possibility to be equipped with payloads, such as MDI, radar altimeter or Luneburg lens. The contract is scheduled to commence on 1 August 2008 and run for a period of four years. Since registrations of interest from potential prime contractors were due last month, companies wishing to be involved in any way with this program should contact the issuing authority immediately for additional information.
