Cougar helicopter upgrades - subcontract notice: The French DGA national
armaments directorate has announced that it has awarded French company
Eurocopter a contract to design, develop, produce and install new upgrade kits
on French Army and Air Force Cougar utility helicopters. This notification is
being issued for the benefit of companies interested in possible subcontract or
licensing opportunities associated with this major helicopter modernisation
program. The work will involve bringing the Army’s Cougar FAR and Air
Force’s Cougar GAM machines into conformity with current flight safety
regulations, retrofitting new avionics and navigation equipment, terminal
information systems and a FLIR, as well as integrated self-defence assets.
